[ABSTRACT] Architecture is a philosophical evaluation of time, humanity, and the environments in which they relate. Buildings function as facilitators and mediators to the human psychological understanding of space and man's role within it. The concept series experiments with these topics by designing the floor plan in the third dimension, focusing on the integrity of its structural members. Form is discovered by the tension and compression relationships of basic geometries which forces gravity to act as the primary element of design. The programmatic layouts are driven by the client’s artistic desire to connect with the surrounding environment and the scenic environment’s inherent need to be connected to by the architecture. These model studies translate ideas in residential architecture into atmospheric spaces that directly manipulate human psychology by creating a translucent barrier between outdoor and indoor and by redefining the common perception of what it means to be at home.
