PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT + INTERIOR DESIGNER

Catherine is a licensed Architect in the state of Florida and the founder of Within Architecture, a full-service Architecture, Art, and Interior Design atelier. Her projects range from custom single-family homes to sculptural, interactive public works. Her expertise in placemaking investigates the concept of home, drawing from contextual history, cultural traditions, and the intimacy between a person, a place, and their future life there. Catherine's architectural mission is to create thoughtful, intentional dwellings that facilitate internal peace and exploration. Recognizing the influence of architecture on the natural world, her designs introduce historic building principles in combination with modern technologies for environmentally responsive design. Catherine received her Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Miami accompanied by minors in both Urban Design and Graphic Design. Since 2016, Catherine has provided a combination of Architectural and Interior Design services for contemporary design firms such as [STRANG] Design (Miami), Glottman Anteprime (Miami), and Tenant Improvement Interiors (Charlotte). She spent two years during her undergrad working for the Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreation Department developing concepts for the Architecture and Planning department to incorporate energy harnessing technology and sustainable materials as a standard in City Park design. She spent four months in Rome, pursuing graphite illustration and architectural history where her proposal for merging ancient and contemporary architecture won First Place at the 2017 Piranesi Prix de Rome Architecture Design Competition at the Pantheon Institute. Her artwork has been displayed on album covers, graphic tees, and stickers which have been internationally consumed. Alongside her own practice, Catherine has provided architectural consultation to many of Miami’s artists helping them achieve large scale or complex installation works.
